“1993 school graduate Mr. Nadanja Bailey, one of Bermuda’s renowned actors/comedians, was the keynote speaker. He exhorted the young people to be nice. He said being nice will make you successful in any career you decide to pursue.

“Principal Todd G. Fox reminded the audience that this is not a leaving ceremony, but a transition from P-6 to P-7; some or most of the students will continue on at the school for another year or two.

“The award was established by the Baha’is of Hamilton Parish in 2021 to mark the 100th anniversary of the passing of ‘Abdu’l-Baha, son of the Founder of the Baha’i Faith, Baha’u’llah.”

‘Abdu’l-Baha died in November 1921 in the then Palestine, now the State of Israel. He loved children and exhorted us: ‘Encourage ye the school children, from their earliest years, to deliver speeches of high quality, so that in their leisure time they will engage in giving cogent and effective talks, expressing themselves with clarity and eloquence.’

“The late Eunice Sharpe was always eloquent in her speech, cheerful, friendly, and courteous.

“Rudy, on behalf of her fellow students, rendered the closing remarks to a very attentive and appreciative audience.”
