St Georges defeated Somerset with a score of 450 to Somerset’s 435 in the Annual Cup Match Golf Classic.
A spokesperson said, “Ocean View celebrated the Annual Cup Match Golf Classic. Under hot but mildly breezy weather conditions the game was played with a field of twelve teams including the Captain of Somerset Jordan DeSilva and coach Jeff Richardson participating. The captains of the teams were Somerset- Kavon Trott and for St Georges- Derrick Douglas.
“This was the late Brian Morris’ brainchild and Assistant Professional O.J. Pitcher left no stone unturned organizing the event in stellar fashion.
“It was the 7th tournament hosted with the teams going into the game with a tie score 3-3. However, at completion St Georges reigned victorious defeating Somerset with a score of 450 to Somerset’s 435.
“A luncheon followed the tournament with a healthy exchange of banter. Somerset President Richard Scott, St Georges President Neil Paynter and St Georges coach Clay Smith were all in attendance, unfortunately St Georges Captain Onias Bascome was unable to attend.
“Congratulations to St Georges the 2023 Ocean View Golf Course Cup Match Champions.”
