Scotland Helps Newport Advance To Semi-Finals
Marcus Scotland and his Newport Cricket Club Wales teammates defeated Cardiff Cricket Club by 22 runs in their T20 Knock-Out Cup Quarter Final match in the UK.
Batting first Newport scored 173/5 in their allotted 20 overs, Mogan Bevans was the top scorer with 55, Scotland added 8 off 7 balls hitting 1 four. Sam Mills was the pick of the Cardiff bowlers with figures of 4-0-32-2.
In reply Cardiff could only manage 151/8, James Meggitt was the top scorer with 49, while Mujeid Ilyas was the pick of the Newport bowlers with figures of 4-0-21-2.
