August 20, 2023 | 20 Comments

A BermudAir aircraft arrived on the island last night [Aug 19] for “preparatory flights that Bermuda authorities will review as part of the ongoing local regulatory process,” which the company called “another key milestone towards BermudAir’s launch.”

A spokesperson said, “BermudAir’s first aircraft arrived on the island last night at L.F. Wade International Airport. This is the first of two E175 aircraft that will be based here on-island.

“The aircraft is here for preparatory flights that Bermuda authorities will review as part of the ongoing local regulatory process. It will be here for a few days, flying in and out of the island, then return to Canada for completion of remaining operational launch preparations. This is another key milestone towards BermudAir’s launch.”

BermudAir previously announced they plan to operate “short, convenient all-business class flights between Bermuda and the US East Coast.”

Is anyone ever going to tell us how much a flight is going to cost??
Or have I missed that part?

    • Toodle-oo says:

This isn’t an airline for ‘tourist class’ passengers . Have you read yet about the airports they’re servicing ?
As for cost , I believe ticket prices of something like 3-5000$ have been talked about.

    • Burtcoin says:

Its a business class only with 30 seats so I’m guessing north or $4000 pp.

  2. Daniel G DeSilva says:

I would love to hear or read an explanation of how that tail design relates to Bermuda.

    • Horace says:

Who cares.. does American Airlines.. relate to America?

      • Daniel G DeSilva says:

yes AA does actually have a design (eagle head, national colours) that relates to america.
Although this is an “elite” air service, with BERMUDA emblazoned on the fuselage, it would be great if the tail design even remotely connected visually with Bermuda.

      • Jazzy says:

Duh, it has the American flag. Red white and blue on the tail. And they have American eagle. That’s the national animal. Do some research before you try belittle someone.

      • Yes I says:

Actually it does. It’s symbolic of the American eagle spreading its wings.

Lt. Colonel airing must have designed the vertical tail ………………………………….

    • Solve says:

Actually it was another Oba surrogate like Jarion probably………,,…..

  4. Lion Paw says:

Well done! Wishing you great success for these and future flights. All the best and thank you for starting, for your vision, efforts and every obstacle overcome in making this a reality.

  5. Paid off government says:

First of all this airline will be flying to other places. People forget that there are hundreds of Russia aircraft registered here that have never been in or out if Bermuda. This is not a Bermuda airline. Its just conveniently named after Bermuda and registered here. Its a charter not an out and out commercial Carrier! With the business model they are operating under it’s no way they survive just flying to the east coast as a business class only! Trust me it’s a front . Just like everything else in this country! And if you have to ask about the price then this airline is not for you!

    • Joe Bloggs says:

“there are hundreds of Russia aircraft registered here”

Not anymore there are not. Not since sanctions were levied over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

  6. Don Burgess says:

    According to the CH-Aviation website:

“Bermudair’s traffic estimates for the proposed US operations, based on 75% load factors, foresee 22,000 passenger segments to Westchester County, 13,000 to Boston, and 13,000 to Fort Lauderdale. Based on the average market fare between USD750 and USD900, Bermudair projects its revenue for the first year of the US operations will be USD38.7 million.”

    • Paul says:

Average market fare between USD750 and USD900 EACH WAY. So, between $1,650 and $1,950 RT including airport fees and charges. By comparison AAL and DAL Business class to JFK will cost $1,242 and $1574 RT (total cost). The premium pricing may be due to better departure and arrival times and preferred airport locations. Wish them success.

    • Lion Paw says:

Thank you for varying for these num skills who only bitterly complain about changes with false info and innuendo.

  7. Joe Bloggs says:

“Westchester County, 13,000 to Boston, and 13,000 to Fort Lauderdale”

    Ok, I like those destinations.

“average market fare between USD750 and USD900″

Those prices are a lot better than business class prices on major American airlines
