Police Confirm Death Of 73-Year-Old Man
The police have confirmed the death of a 73-year-old man who ‘suffered a medical episode’ at Shelly Bay Beach today [Aug 4].
A police spokesperson said, “Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Friday August 4th 2023, police and other first responders were dispatched to Shelly Bay Beach, Hamilton Parish following reports that a male had been pulled out of the water.
“Reports are the man was standing in waist deep water when he appeared to have suffered a medical episode and went underwater before he was pulled out by nearby individuals who began CPR until the arrival of EMTs who took over.
“The 73-year-old victim was subsequently transported by ambulance to King Edward Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
“Next of kin have been informed. Foul play is not suspected.”
