Dr De Couto Appointed Shadow Finance Minister
Senator Dr Douglas De Couto has been appointed as the new Shadow Finance Minister.
A spokesperson said, “Opposition Senator Dr Douglas De Couto has been appointed Shadow Finance Minister by Opposition Leader Jarion Richardson. Dr De Couto is also the Shadow Minister for Economic Development and Spokesperson for Tourism, Transportation, Works & Engineering and Legal Affairs.
“Doug is not only an asset to the One Bermuda Alliance and its Senate team, but to Bermuda as a whole. He is very analytical and possesses a wealth of knowledge in the international business sector. He is a man of integrity and is passionate about shaping a better Bermuda for all.
“His work in the Senate with his colleagues has exposed the PLP government’s numerous failures to restart our economy and their mismanagement of our country’s finances which will be borne by our next generation. Dr De Couto is married with three children.”
Cole Simons previously served as the OBA’s Shadow Minister of Finance.
