Flora Of Bermuda Runner-Up In Doncaster

Flora Of Bermuda demonstrated her “eye-catching speed” after returning to form with a runner-up finish in a group two race at Doncaster Racecourse yesterday [September 15].
The two-year-old filly, owned by Bermuda Racing, was ridden by Oisin Murphy and went off an 11-2 third favourite in the Carlsberg Danish Pilsner Flying Childers Stakes over five furlongs.
“Flora is back in town, coming 2nd in the Gr.2 Flying Childers this afternoon,” Simon Scupham, the Bermuda Racing chairman, posted on Instagram. “Having dwelt at the start she was never going to catch the impressive winner [the 9-4 favourite Big Evs].
“Nevertheless, she showed eye-catching speed to move from last to second in the blink of an eye and hit the line well… onwards and forwards for our talented filly!”
Flora Of Bermuda came eighth in her previous outing at the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes at the York Ebor Festival at York Racecourse last month.
