The Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA] has teamed up with Miles Partnership to introduce the Navigator Learning Programme to “enhance business visibility on Google and other major travel planning platforms.”

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Tourism Authority is pleased to announce a collaboration with Miles Partnership to introduce the Navigator Learning Programme, which is designed to empower on-island tourism industry partners and stakeholders with essential digital skills and enhance business visibility on Google and other major travel planning platforms.

“An innovative initiative built upon the success of the Google x BTA collaboration in 2019, the Navigator Learning Programme also serves as a complementary component to BTA+, an online learning platform launched by the Bermuda Tourism Authority last year. Businesses will discover the best practices for utilising Google’s free tools, enabling them to increase online exposure and inspire customer confidence.”

Jamari Douglas, BTA VP, Marketing, PR & Communications, said, “Bermuda is home to a plethora of remarkable tourism-related businesses and business operators that deserve to be recognised globally.

“By integrating the Navigator Programme with BTA+, we aim to provide our workforce with unparalleled training and educational resources, further solidifying Bermuda’s reputation as a premier destination.”

The spokesperson said, “The Navigator Programme offers a unique opportunity for businesses to receive a personalised report on their current Google & Bing presence and step-by-step training on how to get the most from the platform.

“Participating businesses also have access to free one-on-one support from digital marketing experts to help with questions about claiming their Google listings, troubleshooting issues or recommendations for improvement. Future sessions will feature other leading travel channels, such as Tripadvisor.”

Kim Palmer, Program Director at Miles Partnership, said, “According to Google, customers are 70% more likely to visit and 50% more likely to consider purchasing when a business’ Google Profile is complete and current. We are excited to work with Bermuda’s tourism businesses to increase their visibility and success.”

The spokesperson said, “To kick off this exciting collaboration, BTA will be hosting a Navigator Workshop on March 6, 2024, at the Bermuda Visitor Service Centre. The workshop will be offered twice in 2-hour length sessions, beginning at 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, respectively. Interested individuals or businesses unable to join the scheduled sessions will have the opportunity to sign up for one-on-one consultation with the Miles Partnership team, which will be held in 30 minute intervals between 1pm and 4pm.

“During these sessions, attendees will learn more about the Programme, how to join BTA+ and gain valuable insights and practical tips to maximise conversion with their Google Business Profile. Those who attend the training in person or virtually will receive their first ‘star’ in the prestigious Bermuda Navigator Learning Programme and a certificate from BTA that acknowledges their business for being proficient in best practices for managing their Google presence. The second ‘star’ in the program, which features TripAdvisor training, will launch this fall.
