Cultural Festival At Bermuda Institute
The Bermuda Institute Home and School Association is set to host an intercultural festival and school fundraiser on Sunday [May 5].
The fundraising event will assist the Southampton school with supplies and equipment for the upcoming school year, celebrate various cultures on the island and foster unity.
“As the demographics of the island continue to change, so must our mindsets,” a spokesperson said.
“This mindset change is not only for the Bermudian, but also the migrant as they acclimate to Bermuda.
“We want to highlight cultural similarities and differences to our student body as well as our island community.”
The event runs from noon until 4 pm, and will feature food tasting, cultural performances, and a Parade of Nations.
“Come out this Sunday dressed representing your country, culture, or tribe!” the spokesperson added.
