Gombey Celebration Set For June 8th
A Gombey celebration is set for Saturday, June 8, featuring a procession from Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club to Hamilton Parish Workmen’s Club.
Desmond Crockwell said, “I would like to invite you to the Gombey celebration throughout Bailey’s Bay on Saturday, June 8. We are celebrating the memories of the late Glenn Blakeney, Marco Warren, Steven Jireh Iris, Kiara Paiva, and Daemon Bell. We are dancing from Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club to Hamilton Parish Workmen Club.
“Alongside the Gombeys will be the Hamilton Parish Majorette and Dance Group. Weather permitting, this should be exciting for the community.
“But before we start the Gombey march, we will be having a youth awareness magazine launch at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club. This magazine includes serious issues that many of our young people face, as well as a few recipes for parents. Get your copy before they all go.
“So please, come out and dance with the Gombeys and majorette group. Suburban Transit will support with transport from HPWC back to BBCC. See you there. Spread the word.”
