Ministry Announces Three Road Closures

The Ministry of Public Works has issued notices about upcoming road closures and events, including a criterium road race, Made in Bermuda Nights, and road reconstruction on St. David’s Road.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works would like to inform the public of several upcoming road traffic notices. Full details can be found in the attached official notices.

Bermuda Bicycle Association Criterium Road Race – Sunday, 14 July 2024

“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Bermuda Bicycle Association Criterium Road Race will take place on Sunday, 14 July 2024, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 am. Please see the attached notice for a list of affected roads and traffic restrictions.

Pitt’s Bay Road, Pembroke Parish – Road Closure for Made in Bermuda Nights – Saturday, July 13th, 2024

“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that there will be a road closure on Pitt’s Bay Road in Pembroke Parish for the Made in Bermuda Nights event at Barr’s Bay Park. The closure will occur on Saturday, 13 July 2024, from 7:30 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.

  • Pitt’s Bay Road between Bermudiana Road and Woodbourne Avenue will be closed.
  • Motorists using Front Street will be detoured via Bermudiana Road.
  • Motorists using Pitt’s Bay Road will be detoured via Woodbourne Avenue.

“Traffic controls will be managed by Made in Bermuda Nights’ group representatives.

St. David’s Road, St. George’s Parish – Road Closure for Wall Reconstruction & Road Improvements – Monday, 15 July 2024 through Friday, 30 August 2024

“The Ministry of Public Works advises that there will be a road closure on St. David’s Road in St. George’s Parish to facilitate the reconstruction of the wall and road improvements at Stokes Point bridge bend. The road closure will commence on Monday, 15 July 2024, and will continue through Friday, 30 August 2024.

  • St. David’s Road will be closed from Stock’s Road through to the roundabout at Kindley Field.
  • No traffic will be permitted through this stretch.
  • Traffic will be detoured through Kindley Field Park to Ballast Point Road and Southside Road.

“The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the public’s cooperation.”
