Photos: St George’s Cup Match Extravaganza
[Updated with video] The Corporation of St. George’s held a Cup Match Extravaganza event last night [July 19] at King’s Square in St. George’s.
Mayor Quinell Francis previously said, “We are delighted to once again host the annual Cup Match Extravangza in our historic Town of St. George.” This year’s Cup Match Extravaganza commemorates the 190th year of the emancipation of Black people from slavery in Bermuda. While the Cup Match Extravaganza serves as a rally for our community, it also holds a deeper significance as a public acknowledgment of the historic cricket match it represents and the heritage of emancipation and Mary Prince.”
