Pollution Control Section New Online Application
The Pollution Control Section of the Department of Environment & Natural Resources [DENR] “seeks customers’ assistance in submitting information for the implementation of a new online application and renewal system.”
A Government spokesperson said, “In the 2023 Speech from the Throne, the public will recall that the Government will enhance services through digital transformation, establish ‘one-stop shops’ for registration, permitting, and licencing, and reduce the need for multiple trips to various departments.
“To that end, DENR is working on a new online platform that will streamline and enhance the service offerings for the following:
- Operating Licenses for ‘controlled plants’ that emit pollutants, including electrical generators, aerated sewage treatment plants, spray paint facilities, rock crushers, sand sifters, stone cutters, incinerators, and more.
- Water Rights for wells to abstract groundwater and boreholes to dispose of treated water.
- Registration of Above ground and Underground Fuel Storage Tanks [AST/UST].
“However, to ensure a smooth transition, as part of the process, existing owners of controlled plants, wells/boreholes, and registered fuel storage tanks are asked to submit their information to the new system. This crucial step will allow the DENR to accurately link your data to the appropriate licenses.
“To facilitate this process, please select the relevant link below to be directed to the appropriate online information submission page:
“Please be advised that customers will receive periodic updates throughout the transition to the new online application and renewal system.
“The Department of Environment and Natural Resources appreciates your cooperation as we work towards providing a more efficient and user-friendly system.
