Nonprofit Alliance Launches Recruitment Effort
The Nonprofit Alliance of Bermuda has launched a Board of Directors Recruitment Initiative “aimed at matching talented community members with nonprofit boards that could benefit from their expertise.”
A spokesperson said, “The Nonprofit Alliance of Bermuda is proud to announce the launch of its Nonprofit Board of Directors Recruitment Initiative, designed to connect skilled individuals with meaningful opportunities to contribute to Bermuda’s nonprofit sector.
“Nonprofits in Bermuda play an essential role in addressing pressing social and economic issues, working to enhance both individual and community well-being. However, many organizations face challenges in recruiting board members with the diverse skills and backgrounds necessary for effective governance.
“To address this need, the Nonprofit Alliance is launching an initiative aimed at matching talented community members with nonprofit boards that could benefit from their expertise.”
Nicola Paugh, Executive Director of the Nonprofit Alliance of Bermuda, said, “Nonprofit boards are crucial in shaping the direction and ensuring the sustainability of organizations that are key to our island’s social fabric.
“This initiative provides an opportunity for individuals to leverage their skills and give back to their community in a deeply impactful way.”
The spokesperson said, “How it works:
- Register your interest by logging your details with the Nonprofit Alliance of Bermuda.
- Free board training will be provided to ensure you understand the fundamentals of nonprofit governance.
- Explore opportunities by receiving a list of current nonprofit board vacancies.
- Choose your fit and connect directly with nonprofits that resonate with your passion and skillset.
“Interested individuals can register by visiting the website and selecting ‘skilled volunteer’ from the dropdown. Prospective board members are encouraged to provide their contact information, professional skills, and areas of nonprofit interest.
“After registering, participants will receive a registration code for the January 2024 virtual training: The Nonprofit Board: Critical Role of Good Governance. The training will take place virtually on January 22, 23, 29, and 30 from 10:00am to 11:30am. Participants will also receive a list of current board openings with Nonprofit Alliance member nonprofit organisations.
“The Nonprofit Alliance does not share personal information but helps make the connection between interested individuals and organizations. The deadline to register interest is Friday, November 1.”
