Call For Entries: City Christmas Boat Parade
The City of Hamilton is calling on boat owners to join the 2024 City Christmas Boat Parade on Saturday, December 7, bringing holiday spirit and creativity to Hamilton Harbour.
A spokesperson said, “The City of Hamilton needs your help to keep the magic of the 2024 City Christmas Boat Parade alive! To ensure the continued success of this cherished event, we’re inviting boat owners to bring their holiday spirit and creativity to Hamilton Harbour on Saturday, December 7th, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
“To give everyone the opportunity to join, we’ve extended the registration deadline further to November 29th.
“Boat owners, local businesses, workplaces, church groups, and community organizations are encouraged to join forces and showcase their creativity by entering a decorated boat in the parade. This is your chance to spread holiday joy, foster connections, and compete for amazing prizes such as:
- Best Overall Boat [1st Place] – $1500 BELCO Gift Voucher + 2-night stay at the Hamilton Princess
- People’s Choice [2nd Place] – $1000 PW Marine Gift Voucher
- Best Traditional Christmas Message [3rd Place] – $500 Rubis Gift Voucher
- Additional trophies will be awarded for Best Community Message, Most Original, Most Humorous, and Children’s Choice.
“This year, the parade will also feature Bermuda’s largest-ever holiday drone show, an awe-inspiring spectacle that will illuminate the night sky with synchronized lights and an audio experience. The show will tell a festive story through breathtaking drone formations, creating a total sensory experience. The best views of this must-see event will be from the free City Viewing Village and Kids Zone, where delicious food vendors and holiday cheer await.”
“Participation is vital for keeping this event alive,” said Lorna Hayward, the City’s Senior Events Coordinator. “The Boat Parade is a highlight of the holiday season, and we’re counting on our boating community to make this year unforgettable. With the incredible drone show and amazing prizes, it’s an opportunity not to be missed. We’re calling on all boat owners to come together, spread holiday joy, and ensure this spectacular event continues for years to come.”
The spokesperson said, “To join the celebration and help light up Hamilton Harbour, complete the Boat Parade Application Form today.
