Coast Guard Tow Boat Away From Causeway
A boat broke from its moorings and was drifting towards the Causeway, and the Bermuda Coast Guard attended and towed the boat to the Grotto Bay Dock.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] spokesperson said, “November 15 | Staff at the Grotto Bay hotel contacted Bermuda Radio to advise a large boat had broken from its moorings in Grotto Bay and is drifting towards the Causeway.
“A police land unit was asked to attend, at 8:00am a truck driver on the Causeway called Bermuda Radio as a cabin cruiser was stuck in an arch of the Causeway, the police later provide the boat name ‘Ismay Avis.’ The boat was correctly registered and the owners agreed to attend as soon as possible. Bermuda Coast Guard towed the boat to Grotto Bay Dock, there was no damage to the Causeway and the boat was later towed to St Georges boat yard for repairs.”
