Women’s Empowerment Summit On Nov 30th
Ladies who attend the 9th annual Women’s Empowerment Summit are in for “a day of connectivity, sharing and a range of emotions,” says WES founder Carla Zuill, who held the first event in 2016.
It begins at 10.00am at Ocean View Golf Course on Saturday, 30 November.
“The Summit was initially intended to be a one-off when I created it. A few months after it was held, I received a call asking the date of the second one. My intention was not to hold any more but then I had a rethink and I’ve never looked back. Even during Covid, I didn’t miss a beat. I held the event online in 2020 and 2021 and hundreds of women attended. In 2024, I am proud to say the Women’s Empowerment Summit has reached year nine,” she said.
With this year’s theme, The Uprising, the event will open with a fashion show by personal stylist Nicole Grant, followed by presentations by founder of women’s empowerment brand, I am Enough Bermuda, Angel Burgess, anti-violence advocate Nicole Fox and film producer and philanthropist Caroline Desmarais.
“In the afternoon, there will be a panel discussion The Effects of Violence on Women In Bermuda. The panel will include Director of The Centre Against Abuse Laurie Shiell, parents Dawn Trott and Gloria Daniels, clinical counsellor Dayla Burgess, and advocate Gina Spence-Virgil.
“We will also be recognising our annual Woman Of The Year [she has no clue she will be awarded!],” a spokesperson said.
The event is being hosted by Ms Zuill.
“The Women’s Empowerment Summit is a safe space for women to gather; share their accomplishments, their challenges and offer tools to improve their everyday lives. Women from all walks of life are welcomed,” she adds.
A spokesperson added, “Tickets for the Summit are available at www.shehub.tv. Prices include light breakfast and full lunch. Tickets will also be available at the door. Cash payments only.”
