International Women’s Day Celebration
The International Women’s Day Committee and the Women’s Resource Centre will host their annual International Women’s Day Celebration on March 7th at the Pier 6 Complex.
A spokesperson said, “This inspiring morning event, themed “Accelerate Action”, will bring together women from diverse backgrounds to share their insights, expertise, and lived experiences, empowering attendees to take bold steps toward gender equity and social change.
“The global theme for 2025, “Accelerate Action”, is a call to strategic, decisive efforts that will drive meaningful progress toward gender equity. This year’s event will feature a TEDx-style format, with dynamic speeches from an esteemed panel of speakers, followed by a compelling panel discussion. Patrina O’Connor-Paynter returns as our host, with Sloane Johnson serving as the event’s moderator.
“Our distinguished speakers include Donna Raynor, an accomplished sports leader, advocate, Bermuda Olympic Association Board Member, and Member of the World Athletics Council; Kirsten Beasley, a respected insurance industry executive, Head of Office at Willis Towers Watson, and Co-Founder of We Speak; and Sherrie-Lynn Lilley, a dynamic mental health clinician, Founder of Pneuma Consulting & Inspire Bermuda.
“The morning will begin with a networking breakfast at 8:00 AM, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect before the event officially begins at 9:00 AM sharp. A highlight of the celebration will be the much-anticipated announcement of the 2025 Woman of the Year Award, recognising a Bermudian woman who has made outstanding contributions to advancing gender equality and empowering women in the community.”
Women’s Resource Centre Executive Director, Juanae Crockwell, explained: “International Women’s Day is our signature event and a highlight on our annual calendar. It’s not only a time for celebration but also a call to action. We invite the community to join us for an empowering and thought-provoking morning. Our speakers will share their diverse experiences in accelerating action, and it promises to be an inspiring event, as always.”
