Inter BDA Claim Corona League Title
Inter BDA have claimed the Corona League title after drawing 1-1 with Robin Hood at Goose Gosling Field yesterday [March 31].
Heading into the final match of the league season, Inter held a one-point lead over second-placed Hood, meaning they needed at least a draw to secure the title.
They finished the season undefeated, winning six of their ten matches.
Toby Mayhall opened the scoring for Hood before Thales Francis netted an equaliser for Inter.
Stalin Naranjo, the Inter BDA coach, has reflected on his team’s triumph and admits it was a nervy affair against Hood.
“We have players from all over the world – Europeans, Latin Americans, America, Asia, Africa, Bermudians,” he told Bernews.
“We’ve become a community. It’s been a long season, but we did it.
“We finished the season undefeated. I’m proud of the boys.
“It was a tense game. Robin Hood are a good team and have some strong guys.”
Hood face Terrace Onions in Corona Cup on Friday [April 4].
