Motorcycle racer Jediah Cumbermack is set to travel to England today [April 16] for two days of practice as he gears up for the start of the AJN Steelstock Limited Kawasaki British Superteen Championship.

The 19-year-old will represent the British development team Rokit Rookies in the eight-round series, which begins at Oulton Park Circuit in Tarporley, Cheshire, from May 3 to 5. The championship is open to riders aged 14 to 21.

This week, Cumbermack will familiarise himself with the Oulton Park Circuit, continuing to build on the international experience he has gained in recent years.

He previously competed in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup for the Texas-based A.I.R Onze Moto Racing team and has also raced in the Chuckwalla Motorcycle Racing Association series in Desert Center, California, as well as the North American Talent Cup.

“I’m looking to get to know my team-mates, coaches, everyone in the paddock and build a bond with everyone,” Cumbermack told Bernews.

“I want to be competitive and be the top ten, the top five. I know I need to start from the ground up and I don’t want to be put too many expectations on myself.

“It will be different – the tracks are wider, and line choices are different to the United States, which are much tighter.

“I’ll have to adapt, but I’m willing to put the work in.”
