“A gutsy ride from Charlotte Millington today at the Junior Women’s Road Race at the Pan American Championships!” the Bermuda Bicycle Association posted on social media.

“Racing solo against large national teams, Charlotte rode smart, stayed clear of several crashes, and showed incredible resilience after being caught in a mid-race crash that caused her and a small group to lose contact with the peloton,” the Bermuda Bicycle Association posted on social media.

“It took nearly an entire lap of hard chasing, but Charlotte and her group fought back to rejoin the leaders – an impressive show of determination!

“Charlotte finished 24th, crossing the line with the same time as the winner – a huge accomplishment in such a tactical and fast race.

“We’re so proud of you, Charlotte, for flying the Bermuda flag with strength and heart on the international stage!”

Kaden Hopkins and Nicholas Narraway will compete in the elite men’s road race on Sunday.
