American Couple To Walk First End-To-End
[Written by Stephen Wright]
Cindy and Glenn Kwederis, an American couple from Bergen County, New Jersey, are celebrating their 37th wedding anniversary in a unique way – by visiting Bermuda for the first time to participate in the Convex End-to-End.
Ms Kwederis said the trip was inspired by Moon Bermuda by Rosemary Jones, a travel guide that piqued her interest in the island’s culture and beauty.
To her delight, their visit has aligned with the annual charity walk next Saturday [May 3], making the experience even more special.
She believes the End-to-End is the perfect way to connect with locals, support worthwhile causes, and soak in the island’s stunning landscapes.
“It’s not a long flight, a beautiful island, so we thought, ‘Why not, we’ll try it,’” Ms Kwederis, 61, told Bernews.
“I was reading a travel book, Moon Bermuda by Rosemary Jones, and checking out websites about the island.
“I read that the End-to-End was going on in May and we thought we may as well join in.
“I don’t know if we’ll do the whole 24.1 miles, but we’ll sure try!”
The couple, who will stay at Coco Reefs in Paget, plan to play tennis, walk the Bermuda Railway Trail, and enjoy the local cuisine.
“We’re looking forward to exploring the ferries and enjoying the beaches,” added Ms Kwederis, whose husband is retiring as a software engineer in December.
“We’re excited to escape the hustle and bustle of all the cars. This event seems perfect for us. Maybe it will become an annual thing for us!
This year’s event supports five local charities: Age Concern [ACB Hardship Programme], Bermuda Audubon Society [Conservation Management Plan for High Point], Bermuda Red Cross [Equipment Rental Revitalisation Programme], the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Bermuda and The Reading Clinic [Core Reading Programme].

Many will ask the question why !
What is the justifyable reason for doing things ? could it be satisfaction or did it makes a contribution.
Do Wars ciontribute to satisfaction the same a scoring goals at a foot ball game.
When you get to the top of the ladder do we ask you self where do I go next, the struggle geting there is more that half the fun .
Sitting of the wall like Humpty Dumpty does has no acountability with not much to report through lack of motivation.
My two fravourite words are comunication and entheusiasm.
Being charitable make the other man lazy.
Why do people do extra ordinary things when they do not have to, is it for personal satisfaction or the thought of doing something that could be considdered out of the ordinary ,or better than any body else, or could it be just for braging rights , or looking to find the other end of the rainbow.
Throught out history people take on chalenges some successfull and some not so much , as so many chalenges end in grief and as an unsucessfull acomplishments , put you back to where you started.
As i go past the house where i was born i think to my self what have I done and where have i been ? the thought still puzzled me to day have i done some thing worth while or am I still trying.
A foot ball team spends 90 minutes just for that wining goal , could that be considered just a waste of time although winning is not every thing, but to many it is !
What ever we do in our remaining short life has to be what is the greatest price we pay is it something to be achieved or may be for some who are not that lucky.
LUCK IS A FANTACY !
Every thing always has a price to pay in time, money, and effort could acomplishenents and satisfaction be at the top of the list and leave money out if .
Ask you self , how much money is too much and how mush money is not enough, does that realy matter , health plays a big part or does just enough on the debit card ! money can be lost in the blink of a eye where prudent management is very important .
Time and reputation can be lost like a stone we throw which never come back .
Value for usage matters.
Can we leave something of of notability to be recognized as a worthy contribution to soceiety or should we say, we were just pasing through, when you have yet to prove your worth .
What ever we do will be forgotten as time passes by.
WHAT A WASTE !
Then again may be the most important thing is our time and what we do with time take an thrown away is all that realy matters .
