Mia Fishel Helps US U23 Defeat Germany U23
Footballer Mia Fishel helped the United States Under-23 defeat Germany Under-23 2-1 in a friendly match in Stuttgart, Germany, yesterday [May 30].
Fishel started the match as a lone striker before being substituted in the 64th minute.
Lilly Reale opened the scoring in the 41st minute to give the US the lead before Mara Alber equalised in the 86th minute.
Evelyn Shores netted the winner for the US in the 91st minute.
The US and Germany meet again this weekend.
Fishel helped Chelsea Women complete the treble – Women’s Super League, FA Cup and League Cup – this season.
The 24-year-old, whose father is Bermudian, scored her first goal since recovering from a serious knee injury in Chelsea’s 4-0 league win at home to Crystal Palace last month.
