Bermuda’s men’s field hockey team opened their Central American and Caribbean [CAC] Games Qualifying Tournament campaign with a 2-2 draw against host nation Mexico.

Playing in Mexico, Bermuda secured a valuable point in their opening match. The first half concluded without any scoring. The deadlock was broken in the third period when Yael Gonzalez scored for Mexico with 13 minutes and 15 seconds remaining. Bermuda responded quickly, with Jordache Rawson leveling the score at 1-1 with 5 minutes and 21 seconds left in the third period.

Mexico regained the lead just six seconds later through a goal by Tonatihu Estrada, making it 2-1 heading into the final period.

Bermuda held Mexico scoreless in the third period and equalized in the final quarter when Hemijah Bean scored, bringing the final score to 2-2.
