Bermuda Hosts UK Visitors After Charity Bidding
United Kingdom couple Caroline and Joe Hart are enjoying a Bermuda vacation that was made possible through the Bermuda Golf Links Society’s initiative “to build on interpersonal relationships in our key target markets around the world.”
A spokesperson said, “UK Couple Caroline and Joe Hart are enjoying Bermuda thanks to their generous bidding in response to kind charitable donations led by Ms Laura Purroy of the St George’s Club Hotel, Bermuda and joined by several golf courses and restaurants on island.
“The initiative was spearheaded by Kim Swan under the Bermuda Golf Links Society platform designed to build on interpersonal relationships in our key target markets around the world.
“The event grew from our March 2024 Bermuda UK Golf Fam Trip which featured twenty four golf influencers from PGA organizations and Golf Clubs in England.”
Mr. Swan said, “Thankfully, St. George’s Club Hotel led the way and supported our initiative to promote Bermuda by supporting local events overseas in the United Kingdom. The 2024 Wollaton Park Golf Clubs Captains Charity was an easy choice because it was being organized by a dear friend of Bermuda frequent visitor Rosemary Lockwood who calls our beloved Bermuda her second home by even volunteering each year at the PGA Tour Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
“It was great being partially involved in the months of preparation for the Marie Currie charity golf tournament in 2024, organized by Rosemary Lockwood, the immediate past Lady Captain of Wollaton Park Golf Club in England, which attracted 120 golfers, featured a spectacular Bermuda themed silent auction prize in aid of cancer, and a Dark N’ Stormy putting competition.”
The spokesperson said, “Now on island, the the Harts will be enjoying their Bermuda vacation based in the East End thanks to St. George’s Club Hotel golf, restaurants [White Horse Wahoo Bella Vista], and golf at Port Royal, Turtle Hill, Ocean View, and Belmont has agreed to support a UK charity golf tournament being organized by a long-time Bermuda visitor Rosemary Lockwood, Lady Captain of Wollaton Park Golf Club in England
“The aim of the Bermuda Golf Link Society is to build on existing overseas relationships and build bridges between international communities and our beloved Bermuda.”
