Five Bermudians Help Thomas College Win
Five Bermudians helped lead Thomas College to a 4-1 men’s soccer victory over SUNY Delhi in a rematch of last year’s North Atlantic Conference Championship.
Tre Burgess, Stefan Simmons, Justin Sukdeo, Adio DeShield-Tankard, and T’syi Showers all contributed to the victory.
Thomas College took an early 2-0 lead with goals from Jeremiah Gomez and Shafi Ibrahim within the first 22 minutes. SUNY Delhi scored early in the second half and nearly equalized, but Bermudian defender Tre Burgess made a crucial goal-line clearance to maintain the lead.
Harry Clough extended the lead with a goal in the 72nd minute before Ibrahim scored from the penalty spot to secure the 4-1 final score.
