West End Club Hosts Comet Class Races
The West End Sailboat Club staged a day of Comet Class racing in the Great Sound, with trophies awarded in both the Matthews Cup and the Albert Symonds Regatta.
In the Matthews Cup, Max Curtis and Wesley Tucker claimed first place after leading the fleet around Pearl Island and back. Veteran sailor Gladwin Lambert, sailing with Giorgio Swan, finished second, while Alan and Sarah Frith secured third. Dale Brangman and Nanette placed fourth, Gregory Wade and Geno Smith fifth, and Antione Wingood with Simon Van De Weg sixth.
The Albert Symonds Regatta brought a reshuffled order, as Brangman and Nanette delivered a winning performance. The Friths again made the podium with second place, followed by Curtis and Tucker in third. Lambert and Swan finished fourth, Wade and Smith repeated in fifth, and Wingood with Van De Weg again took sixth.
