Police: Dean Martin Retires After 25 Years
Detective Inspector Dean Martin has retired from the Bermuda Police Service [BPS] after 25 years of dedicated service.
The Bermuda Police Service posted the photo below online, saying, “One month ago, Detective Inspector Dean Martin retired from the Bermuda Police Service [BPS], after a dedicated 25 year career.
“Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons, the BPS Senior Leadership Team and various BPS colleagues, as well as special guests from the Department of Public Prosecutions [DPP], spoke of his contributions to Bermuda at a retirement gathering held in September.
“Originally from the UK, Detective Inspector Martin was recognised for his work in the Serious Crimes Unit and Criminal Investigations Department, as well as a brief stint in the Emergency Response Team.
“Described by many in attendance as an always well-dressed, kind person, the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms. Cindy Clarke, also spoke of his diligence and efficiency in following up with the DPP’s office on criminal cases.
“Before presenting Detective Inspector Martin with his retirement plaque, Commissioner Simons praised his work ethic and wished him a long and happy retirement.
“In his parting comments, Detective Inspector Martin expressed that he appreciated everyone’s kind words and that leaving is bittersweet, as he had met many kind and genuine people in Bermuda.
“Although going back to the UK for retirement, Detective Inspector Martin said he looked forward to returning to Bermuda from time to time, to visit with former colleagues and friends.
“Thank you for your service! We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.”
