Ministry Issues Three Road Traffic Notices
The Ministry of Public Works and Environment has issued three road traffic notices.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works and Environment wishes to advise the public of upcoming road traffic disruptions due to essential trenching and road stabilisation works taking place in Southampton, Devonshire, and Smith’s Parish.
Southampton – BELCO Trench Works at Barnes Corner [PDF]
“Motorists are advised that ongoing BELCO trench work will continue through the Barnes Corner junction at Middle Road and South Road in Southampton. Beginning Tuesday, 18 November 2025, the work will transition from the westbound to the eastbound lane at the junction, resulting in the closure of the South Road turn onto eastbound Middle Road. The trench work is expected to continue through to the end of July 2026. Motorists should also be aware of concurrent embankment wall works at Five Star Island and Avocado Lane. Detours and lane restrictions will be in place, and delays are expected.
Devonshire – Middle Road Trenching Between Montpelier Road and Tee Street [PDF]
“From Wednesday, 19 November through Friday, 19 December 2025, trenching works will be carried out on Middle Road, between Montpelier Road and Tee Street in Devonshire Parish. Temporary traffic lights and stop-and-go signs will be in effect to manage traffic flow in both directions. Lane closures will occur periodically, and detour routes will be available via Tee Street, Montpelier Road, and Flora Duffy Hill. Work hours are scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Smith’s Parish – Lane Closure on North Shore Road [PDF]
“A temporary lane closure will be in effect on #38 North Shore Road [waterside] in Smith’s Parish for road stabilisation works. The project is scheduled to take place from Monday, 17 November 2025, to Tuesday, 18 November 2025, with working hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Temporary traffic lights will be used to manage traffic during this period. Detour routes will be available via Jennings Road and Store Hill Road.
“Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, exercise caution when driving through the affected areas, and follow all traffic management signs and personnel on site.”
