Bermuda’s airport has earned two top honours in the 2025 Airports Council International Airport Service Quality Customer Experience Awards, being named Most Enjoyable and Cleanest Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean based on passenger feedback.

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport has once again been recognized on the global stage, earning two prestigious honours in the 2025 Airports Council International [ACI] Airport Service Quality [ASQ] Customer Experience Awards. The airport has been named:

  • “Most Enjoyable Airport in Latin America & the Caribbean for the second time in two years, and
  • “Cleanest Airport in Latin America & the Caribbean

“These distinctions—based directly on passenger feedback—affirm Bermuda’s airport as one of the region’s leading gateways, celebrated for its warm atmosphere, smooth operations, and commitment to delivering a journey that reflects the island’s hospitality.

“These awards add to a growing list of accomplishments for the airport. In recent years, L.F. Wade International Airport was also recognized as Best Airport in its Class [2021] and The Most Enjoyable Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean Award in 2023. The airport has also earned ACI Customer Experience Level 1 Accreditation and Level 2 Carbon Accreditation, underscoring a steady trajectory of excellence.

“While the airport’s modern terminal—completed in 2020 as part of a major upfront investment—set the foundation for a worldclass facility, Skyport emphasizes that maintaining high standards is an ongoing responsibility. These latest honours highlight the continued effort to ensure that the airport’s cleanliness, service quality, and overall environment evolve in step with passenger expectations.

Aaron Adderley, President of Skyport, said, “These awards are especially meaningful because they reflect the voices of the people who travel through our doors every day. As Bermuda’s gateway, we take great pride in creating an environment that feels welcoming, comfortable, and true to the spirit of our island. This recognition belongs to the entire airport community—every agency, every partner, and every team member. It inspires us to keep raising our standards and aspiring to deliver a level of service that Bermuda can be proud of.”

Justin Erbacci, Director General, ACI World, said: “Being honoured with an ASQ Customer Experience Award by ACI highlights L.F. Wade International Airport’s commitment to understanding and continuously enhancing the end-to-end passenger journey. This achievement underscores the airport’s role in delivering reliable, highquality service across every touchpoint.”

Skyport noted that “these accolades belong not only to the airport team but to the entire island. As the first hello and last goodbye for most visitors, the airport plays a meaningful role in shaping Bermuda’s reputation.

“The awards also serve as motivation to continue raising the bar. With travel expectations shifting and competition increasing across the region, Skyport remains focused on delivering a seamless, enjoyable, and authentically Bermudian journey for all who pass through the terminal.”

That should make MP Famous sick without having to drive by.

Meanwhile the ACU continues to leech funds on a contract that should have gathered seven hundred and fifty thousand over thirty years. It is more like we will pay over a billion.

I mean it’s highly functional but it lacks any soul. Nothing seems open, the lounges are atrocious (especially the ‘BA’ lounge). The fact that security opens at 7am is absurd too, with flights not long after.

Winning cleanest airport feels appropriate as nothing ever happens, it’s just a dull experience.

For the water buckets and the mess I miss the old airport, getting sushi and a beer before jumping on the BA flight vs $16 beers in a souless empty room.

  3. Truth says:

If we had kept the old airport, it would not be in compliance with Airport security regulations.
Why don’t any of you understand this?

    • Joe Bloggs says:

The “old” airport was almost entirely rebuilt around 1990. It lasted less than 30 years. When it closed the roof leaked terribly.

Point House was built around 1970 and still has 50 years of good life left.
