Two Vehicle Collision In Hamilton Parish

[Updated] A two-vehicle collision occurred on Wednesday [Feb 11] on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, near Shelly Bay.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:15pm Wednesday, 11th February 2026 a collision occurred, apparently involving two motorcycles, on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, near Shelly Bay.

“Both riders were treated at the scene for potentially serious injuries and transported to hospital via ambulance.

“Currently, traffic flow in the area is reduced to one lane.

“Any witnesses are asked to call 211 as soon as possible.

“An update is anticipated when more information is available.”

Update: A police spokesperson said, “Good evening all, the roadway has now been reopened to regular traffic flow. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while the collision scene was being processed.”

Update Feb 12, 3.15pm: A police spokesperson said, “Two motorcyclists hurt in a collision that occurred around 3:15pm Wednesday, 11th February 2026, in the North Shore Road, Shelly Bay, Hamilton parish area, have since been treated and discharged from King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“The riders, understood to be a 57-year-old Hamilton parish man and a 51-year-old Pembroke man, were travelling in opposite directions along North Shore Road Wednesday afternoon, near the junction with Lemon Grove Road, when they collided.

“Emergency services personnel responded to the location.

“Both injured men were treated on site for potentially serious injuries and transported to hospital via ambulance, for further medical assessment. Their injuries were later found to be less serious than originally thought.

“Traffic flow in the immediate area was reduced to one lane for approximately an hour and a half, while the collision scene was processed.

“The Bermuda Police Service thanks those witnesses who have already come forward.

“Any additional witnesses are now encouraged to call Constable Tyler Nelmes on 211, or e-mail tnelmes@bps.bm.”

    Now how did this crash happen? A straight bit of road, by Bermuda standards. Don’t even see any potholes or trenching to throw a biker off course. Yet two of them still occupy the same bit of road at the same instant.

    One, or both, caused this crash.

    The carnage continues. Sympathy goes out to the first responders who have to deal with this everyday.

    Two motorcycles on the side of the road all the cops are doing is standing around looking at each waiting for the accident investigator. Just take bloody pictures, mark the road where the motorcycles landed so we can get the traffic moving for crying out loud! It seems we are going backwards in this country.
