A new book chronicling the life and legacy of Bermudian boxer Clarence Hill, the island’s first Olympic medal-winner, has been published.

My Father Bermuda’s First Olympic Medalist: The Biography Of Clarence Eugene Hill, written by his son Jamaka Kamal, explores the story behind Hill’s historic bronze medal in heavyweight boxing at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.

According to the book’s description, the biography tells the “powerful and unfiltered story of the man behind the historic achievement”.

It traces Hill’s journey from his early days training at the Pembroke Youth Centre to his memorable Olympic run in Montreal, highlighting the determination, struggle and pride that shaped his career.
