Thomas Cechini Finishes 7th In 500 Free

Bermudian swimmer Thomas Cechini advanced to five A Finals competing for Loyola University at the ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships, held at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

The sophomore recorded three personal best times during his individual events. Cechini placed seventh in the Men’s 500-Yard Freestyle A Final with a time of 4:32.06. He finished seventh in the Men’s 200-Yard Freestyle A Final in 1:39.23, following a personal best time of 1:38.89 in the preliminaries. In the Men’s 200-Yard Butterfly A Final, he placed eighth with a personal best time of 1:50.59.

In the relay competitions, Cechini was part of the Men’s 400-Yard Medley Relay team that finished second with a time of 3:12.60. He also competed on the Men’s 400-Yard Freestyle Relay team, which placed third in 3:00.36.
