BUEI ‘Kids Hour Saturdays’ To Feature Pufferfish
This month, on Saturday [July 15], ‘Kids Hour Saturdays’ at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] will feature the Pufferfish.
A spokesperson said, “This month, on Saturday, July 15th, ‘Kids Hour Saturdays’ at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] will feature… The Pufferfish!
“‘Kids Hours Saturdays’ takes place every third Saturday of the month at 11am & 2pm respectively. The hour will include an engaging screening of two short films followed by a book reading for children aged 5-12 years old.
“This month’s ‘Kids Hour’ will showcase two short films, ‘What’s Inside a Pufferfish?’ and a short documentary on ‘Pufferfishes, Boxfishes and Porcupinefishes’. The films will then be followed by a reading of ‘How to Hug a Pufferfish’ by author and illustrator Ellie Peterson.
“In the first film, ‘What’s Inside a Pufferfish’, viewers will learn about what makes a Pufferfish, well, puff! Guests will discover how these fish ward off predators, with specialist interviews from Elizabeth Brainerd of Brown University. In the short documentary ‘Pufferfishes, Boxfishes and Porcupinefishes’, viewers will explore the wide variety of colorful and spiky fish types, from the Blue Spotted Pufferfish to Spot-Fin Porcupinefish.
“‘How to Hug a Pufferfish’ is an engaging story by Ellie Peterson. Audiences will be delighted by the comical and charming illustrations of the book, which showcase the many ways that you can show a pufferfish, or anyone who might get startled easily, that you care about them.
“Kids Hour Saturdays are FREE for BUEI members [Single Parent through Adventurer Tier] and $4 per child for non-members. Please note, caregivers must stay on site for the hour.
