Single Vehicle Collision In Shelly Bay
[Updated] A single vehicle road traffic collision has occurred just east of the Shelly Bay Market Place.
A police spokesperson said, “There has been a serious single vehicle road traffic collision, just east of the Shelly Bay Market Place.
“The scene is currently being processed with westbound traffic diverted onto Radnor Road.
“Eastbound traffic is being allowed to continue along North Shore Road at this time. Motorists are urged to exercise caution when approaching the collision scene.”
Update 4.28pm: A police spokesperson said, “Shortly after 8:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, police and other first responders were dispatched to a serious single vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcycle, just east of the Shelly Bay Market Place Supermarket, Hamilton Parish.
“It was reported that a male motorcycle rider traveling west along the North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish, lost control of the vehicle and slid out. He sustained what was described as a serious head injury and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of that injury.
“Subsequent checks have confirmed it was not as serious as first thought and that the bike rider was recovering at hospital.
“The collision resulted in the roadway being closed for approximately one and a half hours, while the scene was processed, with traffic diverted along Radnor Road at its junctions with North Shore Road.
“We wish to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while this matter was being dealt with. Anyone with information on this collision is asked to call the main police number 295-0011 or 211.”
