Armari Maybury Earns Martello Re Scholarship

Armari Maybury has been named the first recipient of the newly-established Martello Re Bermuda Scholarships for Bermuda College students.

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda College Foundation is pleased to announce its partnership with Martello Re Limited in the establishment of two Martello Re Bermuda Scholarships for Bermuda College students. Each Martello Re Bermuda Scholarship provides one year’s tuition and book support for a student pursuing Bermuda College’s Associate in Science Degree Programme with a focus in either Actuarial Science or Computer Information Systems.

“Valued at approximately $14,000 in total, these scholarships help to strengthen pathways into high-demand technical careers aligned with Bermuda’s evolving workforce needs.”

Kerry Judd, Executive Director of Bermuda College Foundation, said, “We are proud to partner with Martello Re Limited to create a meaningful pathway for Bermudian students pursuing studies in Actuarial Science and Computer Information Systems at Bermuda College, critical fields to the continued growth and resilience of our economy.

“These scholarships not only reduce financial barriers for a deserving student but also reflect the power of industry partnership in shaping a future-ready workforce.”

The spokesperson said, “We are incredibly pleased to announce the first scholarship recipient, Armari Maybury, who is currently pursing an Associate of Science Degree [Computer Information Systems]. Armari is in his second year and expects to complete his studies at Bermuda College during the 2026/27 academic year.”

Mr. Maybury said, “I am very proud to be the first recipient of the award and am thankful for the support in my academic endeavours.”

The spokesperson said, “The application process for the second Martello Re Bermuda Scholarship is now open. Applications must be submitted no later than 30 June 2026 through the Bermuda Scholarships website.

“Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale [or equivalent].
  • Be a first-year student applying for Fall 2026 admission to Bermuda College.
  • Pursuing an Associates of Science degree in Actuarial Science or Computer Information Systems.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Must be a Bermudian citizen or have Bermudian status.
