The College Open Eastern National Semifinals concluded with host South Florida securing top results in the 420 fleet regatta, as teams from across the region competed in strong coastal winds and shifting currents for qualification to the national finals.

When final results were confirmed, Christian Ebbin helped Tulane University secure third place overall, while PJ Rodrigues and Jordan Vieira placed 16th for Eckerd College.

Tulane University finished with 90 points to claim third overall, remaining consistently near the top of the standings throughout the event. Ebbin was a key contributor in the B Division, managing congested starts and heavy fleet traffic across the regatta.

In the final race, Ebbin won the A Division contest under pressure, securing a decisive result for his team. He finished eighth in the B Division overall with 42 points, providing the margin Tulane needed to qualify for the national finals.

Eckerd College placed 16th overall after a difficult regatta against a strong collegiate field. Rodrigues competed in the A Division, finishing 16th with 89 points.

Vieira raced in the B Division and also placed 16th, finishing with 74 points after navigating variable conditions.

Tulane University will advance to the national finals, while Eckerd College will regroup ahead of the next collegiate sailing season.
