DeSilva-Andrade Completes Boccia World Cup

Yushae DeSilva-Andrade was defeated in her third match at the Montreal World Boccia Cup.

Competing in the BC1 Women’s Pool A, DeSilva-Andrade, ranked seventh in the world in her classification, was defeated 7-2 by Japan’s Hiromi Endo.

In her opening match, she lost 6-2 to Simona Blazkova, of the Czech Republic, before being narrowly beaten 3-2 by Israel’s Orit Kelner.

“I pushed my opponent [Endo] just as hard as she pushed me,” the Paralympian said.

“I went into the match with good spirits and ended the same way.

“I really enjoyed this game, and I’m so proud of myself.”
