Yushae DeSilva-Andrade On Winning Gold
Yushae DeSilva-Andrade has reflected on her gold medal-winning performance at the Birmingham World Boccia Challenger in Alabama.
The Bermudian claimed victory in the BC1 women’s division.
In the pool A competition, DeSilva-Andrade won three matches and lost one.
“The competition was awesome,” DeSilva-Andrade told Bernews.
“I stayed calm and relaxed. It feels good to know the things I’m working on are coming together.”
The Paralympian is now focused on the World Boccia Championship in Seoul, South Korea, in August and September.
“I want to try to keep the good things from this competition and add new things to them,” she added.
DeSilva-Andrade is a former Female Athlete of the Year and finished fourth in the women’s BC1 division at the Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024.
