DeSilva-Andrade Concludes Competing In Korea
Bermudian boccia player Yushae DeSilva-Andrade concluded her individual campaign at the Seoul 2026 World Boccia Championships after being defeated by Japan’s Hiromi Endo in her final BC1 women’s Pool B match.
DeSilva-Andrade finished fourth in the five-player pool, Endo finished first in the group, while Spain’s Desiree Segarra placed second, with both players advancing to the quarter-finals.
DeSilva-Andrade opened the competition with a 9-4 victory over Simona Blažková of the Czech Republic. She was subsequently defeated 7-4 by China’s Yuan Yichu, 7-1 by Segarra and 8-1 by Endo.
After the event concluded, the Bermudian athlete said, “Even though this World Championships did not go as I had hoped I am extremely happy with the amount of improvement and consistence I was able to maintain in these games. Now’s the time for some much needed rest and then start preparing for my final competition of the season in São Paulo, Brazil in November.”
