Michael Branco Wins Hamilton Mayor Election
[Updated] Michael Branco has been elected Mayor of the City of Hamilton, receiving 140 votes while Elmore Warren received 43 votes. The results were just announced and we will update with additional information as able.
Update 9.10pm: A spokesperson said, “The Parliamentary Registry advises that the results of the Municipal Election for the City of Hamilton, held on 7 May 2026, for the position of Mayor have now been confirmed. Mr. Michael Branco has been elected Mayor of the City of Hamilton.”
Mr Branco received 22 votes from Municipal Residents and 118 votes from Business Ratepayers [total 140], while Mr Warren received 25 votes from Municipal Residents and 18 votes from Business Ratepayers [total 43].
“Voter turnout was recorded as follows:
- Municipal Residents: 47 votes casts
- Business Ratepayers: 136 votes casts
“For a total voter turnout of 183 votes casts. The Parliamentary Registry thanks all election officials, candidates, agents, and voters for their participation and cooperation throughout the electoral process.”
