Bermuda Sailors Continue World Championship
Five youth sailors are representing Bermuda at the 2026 IODA Optimist World Championship as fleet racing continues along the Moroccan coastline.
The Bermudian contingent is competing in an international field that has faced changing wind conditions and complex currents throughout the regatta.
In the overall standings heading into the final stages, Thomas McBain has a net score of 284 points to hold 60th place, Rex Henagulph is in 160th place with a net score of 273 points, and Heath Meyers occupies the 189th position with 356 net points.
The final two Bermudian competitors sit in consecutive positions on the leaderboard. Jesse Savage is in 202nd place with 400 net points, while Miguel Leite is one point behind in 203rd place with 401 net points.
