Robinson Sisters Win Medals In Abu Dhabi
Bermudian siblings Raelyn Robinson and Reyna Robinson delivered exceptional performances at the Ultimate Athletics Abu Dhabi Championships at Zayed Sports City, winning five gold medals and one silver medal.
In the U10 category, Raelyn Robinson delivered an outstanding performance, with a stellar quadruple gold medal clean-sweep, winning the 80m, 150m, 300m and long jump, and ultimately securing the U10 Abu Dhabi Champion girl title.
Raelyn shared, “I had a lot of fun competing in Abu Dhabi and I met some new friends. I didn’t do as well as I hoped in long jump, but I got it done. We used to live in Dubai and it’s always great to visit.”
Alongside in the spotlight, younger sister, Reyna Robinson, held her own in U8 category with two podium finishes, securing a gold medal in the 150m and a silver medal in the 80m dash.
Reyna said, “The race was so much fun, this is my first gold medal in a real race! So, I’m really happy about that.”
The spokesperson said, “The two Bermudians captured the attention of World Athletics and USATF coaches and garnered applause from spectators and UAE track clubs alike; putting Bermuda on the map and etching their mark in the Emirates track & field history. Their performance underscored the importance of nurturing and supporting young talent. We congratulate the girls on their dedication and determination. Experiences such as this highlight the efforts of young athletes, allow them to showcase their talents, and foster a love and passion for sports on an international stage.”
