Live Updates: ICC T20 Americas Qualifier Matches
[Updating] Bermuda is hosting the ICC World Cup Qualifiers Sub Regional Americas Group A, with the prestigious international cricket event including 5 teams from across the Americas region — Bahamas, Brazil, Bermuda, Belize & Panama — in action.
The tournament, being held at the National Sports Centre North Field, opened with a rain-affected start, forcing the abandonment of Sunday’s initial fixtures. The schedule was subsequently revised to shift the opening day’s matches to the final day of the event.
Bermuda began their campaign on Monday with a dominant ten-wicket victory over Belize in a rain-reduced 12-overs-a-side match, successfully chasing a Duckworth/Lewis target of 48 in just 5.2 overs. Panama also secured a strong opening result on Monday, defeating Brazil by 69 runs after posting a total of 155 for four.
The tournament continued on Wednesday with Panama earning their second win by defeating the Bahamas by four wickets, chasing down a target of 115. In the afternoon session, Belize bounced back from their opening loss to defeat Brazil by eight wickets, reaching 134 for two after restricting Brazil to 133 for nine.
Action resumed in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Sub-Regional Qualifier on Thursday, with Bermuda defeating Panama by ten wickets and the Bahamas overcoming Brazil by six wickets.
The BCB previously noted, “Spectators can look forward to exciting matchups, emerging talent, and an electric atmosphere as Bermuda once again takes center stage as a premier cricket destination. Hosting this qualifier reinforces the BCB’s ongoing commitment to developing the game locally and elevating international cricket opportunities on the island.” Tickets can be purchased on PTix.bm.
