Young Bermudian athlete Raelyn Robinson won four medals at the AAU National Championship Jackie Joyner-Kersee Showcase in St Louis, Missouri.

Robinson captured the gold medal in the long jump and earned bronze medals in the 100 metres and 200 metres.

She also received a bronze award after placing third among the overall top performers in the 8U girls’ division.

Robinson’s results also secured her qualification in all three events for the AAU Junior Olympics, which will be held in Des Moines, Iowa, in August. She qualified after placing among the top six performers at an AAU regional qualifier and National Showcase.

The championship included a march around the track featuring athletes representing their clubs and countries, with Robinson recognised for her participation on behalf of Bermuda.

The competitors were later greeted and addressed by Olympic champion and record-holder Jackie Joyner-Kersee.
