BTOA Announces Journi Cup Match Partnership
The Bermuda Taxi Owners & Operators Association announced Journi as the Official Transport Provider for the 2026 Annual Cup Match Classic.
A spokesperson said, “We are pleased to announce that, through an official partnership with Somerset Cricket Club, Journi has been appointed the Official Transport Provider for the 2026 Annual Cup Match Classic, taking place on 30 and 31 July 2026.
“As the Official Transport Provider, Journi will deliver coordinated transportation services throughout the two-day event, helping residents and visitors travel safely, conveniently and efficiently to and from Somerset Cricket Club.
“Transportation services will include:
- An official Journi Booking & Transportation Desk near the main Cricket Lane entrance.
- On-site transportation coordination and dispatch support.
- Dedicated Public Service Vehicle [PSV] pick-up and drop-off areas to improve traffic flow and passenger access.
- Digital taxi booking through the Journi app.
- Secure debit and credit card payments.
- Government-regulated taxi fares with no surge pricing or holiday fare increases.
“To celebrate the partnership, Journi will waive its platform service fee on each customer’s first completed booking on both days of the Annual Cup Match Classic. Customers will pay only the applicable Government-regulated taxi fare, plus any banking or card processing fees associated with electronic payments.
“In preparation for the increased transportation demand expected during the Cup Match holiday, Journi will also introduce a seven-day driver trial for eligible licensed Public Service Vehicle operators who are not currently active on the platform. The initiative is intended to increase fleet capacity during one of Bermuda’s busiest travel periods while allowing more licensed taxi operators to experience Journi’s dispatch platform.
“This partnership reflects our continued commitment to support Bermuda’s licensed taxi industry while improving the transportation experience for residents and visitors attending one of the island’s most celebrated events.
“Residents and visitors are encouraged to download the Journi app before the holiday to plan their transportation throughout Cup Match weekend.
