Sakari Famous Wins High Jump In Memphis

Sakari Famous won the women’s high jump at the Ed Murphey Classic in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Bermudian cleared 1.85 metres to take victory.

Famous is preparing to represent Bermuda at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

“I went into this meet with no expectations and only a focus on executing what I’ve practised. I’m nothing but grateful for my performance!” Famous said.

The 26-year-old recently broke her national record of 1.85 metres [6ft ¾in] to win the John Green/Texas Greatest Athlete Invitational in Texas.
