Lightbourne Advances To NACAC 400M Final
Zydon Lightbourne advanced to the 400-meter final on the opening day of the 2026 NACAC Under-18 and Under-23 Track and Field Championships at the Una Nueva Historia Sports Complex.
Lightbourne qualified by finishing third in the third heat and seventh overall with a time of 48.88 seconds.
In the same event, Surii Russell placed fifth in the first heat and 13th overall with a time of 49.99 seconds, failing to advance to the final.
In the women’s Under-18 100-meter preliminaries, Pria Wilson and Amara Samuels both competed. Wilson finished sixth in her heat and 13th overall in 12.27 seconds, while Samuels finished sixth in her heat and 18th overall in 12.42 seconds.
Norre Robinson took part in the men’s Under-23 100-meter preliminaries, crossing the line fifth in the second heat and 14th overall with a time of 10.67 seconds.
Competition continues at the championships with Lightbourne scheduled to compete in the 400-meter final.
