Photos: Nine Fire Recruits Reach Milestone
Nine Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service recruits — Jaylon Bather, E. Camren Caines, Jayorie Fox, Erik Frederick, Cole Hepburn, Stefan Maybury, Kobie Reid, Jonah Robinson and Keion Smith — have completed two of three required training phases.
The Government posted the photos below, saying, “Earlier this week, we celebrated nine firefighter recruits who reached an important milestone on their journey to becoming fully trained members of the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service.
“Jaylon Bather, E. Camren Caines, Jayorie Fox, Erik Frederick, Cole Hepburn, Stefan Maybury, Kobie Reid, Jonah Robinson and Keion Smith have now completed two of the three required training phases.
“During the ceremony, the recruits demonstrated their developing skills through simulated responses to a building fire and a vehicle collision involving a trapped passenger. Congratulations once again to all nine recruits, including Firefighter Cole Hepburn, who received the Outstanding Recruit and Highest Academic awards. I’m confused about the tower though.i thought it was deemed unsafe to train in? Hopefully the BFRS has finally realized the importance of high rise training. The buildings on Hamilton are getting taller and we all remember the last high rise fire on Front Street when the departments tall ladder truck was out of commission and firefighters had the fight a loosing battle using a private firms equipment to fight the fire. You lost. Next time there may be civilians inside. I hope you have the equipment and I hope the training is in place once again. Someones life may depend on it.
