PJC Partners With Butterfield Championship
Private Jet Club [PJC] has partnered with the Butterfield Bermuda Championship for its 2026 PGA TOUR event at Port Royal Golf Course.
A spokesperson said, “Private Jet Club [PJC] is partnering with the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, a PGA TOUR event, for its 2026 tournament at Port Royal Golf Course, with the relationship centred on player travel and marketing initiatives around tournament week.
“At the heart of the partnership is the players’ charter following the championship. Once play concludes in Bermuda, PJC will provide the private flight taking participating players onward to VidantaWorld Mexico Open for the next tournament on the PGA TOUR schedule.
“The arrangement addresses a familiar logistical challenge in professional golf. Players and their teams need to move themselves, luggage and equipment across borders in time to prepare for the next event, and an island departure adds another layer to that journey.
“For PJC, which moves passengers around the world, and specialises in Bermuda and island travel, that is a particularly natural part of the partnership. It will be providing a group charter for up to 200 Butterfield Bermuda Championship players and support teams.”
Becky Ezekiel, Private Jet Club CEO, said, “This is our first year partnering with The Butterfield Bermuda Championship. We are excited to help make the players’ travel as seamless as possible and play a small part in ensuring they are match-fit for the next tournament. Our collaboration runs deeper than travel; we are investing in a number of wider initiatives and hope this is the start of a long-lasting relationship. And of course, we are looking to add a Bermudian touch throughout and involve other local businesses wherever we can.”
The Journey After The Final Putt
The spokesperson said, “The charter forms part of a wider relationship between PJC and the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. The two organisations will also work together on a series of marketing and editorial initiatives around the tournament, including a Hole in One competition at the Pro-Am and an original content series exploring Bermuda’s place in professional golf.
“There is a personal connection behind some of that interest. PJC CEO Becky Ezekiel’s father, David, brought the PGA of America’s Grand Slam of Golf to the Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda, serving as General Chairman in the first two years of the event. Cue the oft-repeated family dinnertime story about David’s son, Daniel, driving the par-four first at Port Royal alongside Rory McIlroy in the Grand Slam Pro-Am — a gauntlet McIlroy was apparently quite happy to pick up on the next tee.
“The PGA of America’s Grand Slam of Golf was distinct from today’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship, but as Bermuda’s previous premier professional golf event, it helped establish the island as a destination for top-level professional golf. The two tournaments belong to different eras, but the thread between them is an interesting one. For decades, Bermuda has found ways to bring elite players to an island that sits outside the usual continental tournament circuit and presents its own connectivity challenges. PJC’s role in 2026 brings aviation into that story, helping players move from one tournament to the next without adding unnecessary complexity to an already demanding schedule.
A Partnership Beyond The Flight
“PJC and the Championship are also exploring shared private flights for the players into Bermuda for tournament week. This concept would allow players to fly direct without the cost of chartering independently and without the layovers of most commercial flight routes.
“The partnership will also extend to mutual content sharing online around the tournament. PJC has plans for some exciting editorial articles in the build-up, as part of its Altitude Journal.
“For both organisations, the aim is broader than tournament visibility around a single week. The partnership aims to tell stories around the Championship itself, including Bermuda’s unique golf heritage, the people behind the event and the practical realities of moving a professional tour from one country to the next.”
Butterfield Bermuda Championship Assistant Tournament Director, Jevon Roberts, added, “The Butterfield Bermuda Championship is excited to partner with PJC as we continue to elevate the experience for our partners, fans, players, and caddies. I had the opportunity to visit one of the jets the players will have the opportunity to charter, and what an experience it was. As the Player Relations representative, these are the questions I will need to answer in a few weeks once the players and agents start reaching out to me to find the best way to get to the island. We are also looking forward to PJC facilitating the return charter to Mexico once our tournament is done. I’ve been able to speak to the players in my travels about this already, and they are thankful to get information in advance”.
